Aztec inspiration

Hello you :) how's it going? Well first of all I would like to clarify that this is not an Ego post!! I just wanted someone to take photos of my outfit today. Unfortunately no one was at home to make me that favour, so to demonstrate myself that I'm independent enough to carry out anything I want, I looked for some place to let the camera catch the whole body (and believe me I nearly become crazy!!). And well, it was not the perfect situation but damn it, I like it either way :)

The dress it's my new treausure, lately I kinda like aztec, and when I found this beautiful thing I thought 'Come on Sonja, it's crying to get your hand' :) And about my sandals...well they're a summery comfy shoes with a wonderful design..
Both things from Primark...incredible, isn't it?

Summer times

After a while without any outfit pics, here I come with some I took last summer. It was a lovely day when my boyfriend, some chinese girls and I went for a walk in the capital and there we found some surreal situations which took us back to the 60's...
About what I was wearing...I can say this white dress from Mango is the most comfortable dress I've ever tried! The handbag is mummy's...:)

Mr Money

My last drawing. Not sure why I drew this, perhaps had in mind one of the Mary Poppins scenes ... who knows!
Do you like it? :)

Help us to Help

One thing I've noticed is that in this life no one is untouchable. If you want peace you must be prepared for war. I think there is a very thin dividing line between having a job and personal security and not have it at all. Today you have your family and friends around you, you have a salary that lets you live each day and occasionally have a few whims, but suddenly it happens that one day things go wrong, and like a domino, the pieces start to fall. Let's put ourselves in the worst case, imagine, you lose your job, you have a high mortgage to pay, you have a family to support, you have friends that help you but gradually move away because they also have many burdens to face. Imagine that the slump becomes routine and suddenly, you have nothing in life. You're a poor person in a world full of candy and treats that you can not have.
There are many people in this situation in Spain, even more than we can imagine. Every day when I get home from work, I meet people on the train asking for help with much desperation. It shrinks my heart to see people in that state, and they are people like all of us, who have seen their lifes twisted for whatever reason and have found no light at the end of the road.
So, making a break on the subject of other entries, today I bring you something really important. Alejandro Toledo, a very wellknown professional of the same world I devote myself, Advertising, wanted to portray just that, a lack of that many families by the crisis. The so-called modern poverty represented by a white bear in his daughter's hands.
As Alejandro puts as the ad claim:  "Help us to help" with Caritas, which for me is the best NGO ever. Enjoy the video, it's really worth seeing.

Edward and his Scissors Hands

There are days when you feel a little misunderstood, or perhaps you feel the world is not on your side. Your sensitivity cause excitement for anything. Edward, star of the film by Tim Burton, is a fictional character who embodies all those feelings I describe above. Edward Scissorhands marked my life. My favorite movie without any doubt. In this outfit I'm showing the tshirt I bought in Soho, in my trip to New York. I got in love with it and I didn't hesitate to take it home with me.

Marina is a diamond

Marina Lambrini Diamandis, better known as Marina & The Diamonds, was born in 1985 in Abergavenny, Wales, UK.
Her father is Greek and her mother is Welsh. She was brought up in the village of Pandy with her parents and her older sister. When her parents separated, Marina moved to Greece when she was sixteen years old to live with her father but returned to Wales two years later.
At the age of 18 she leaves the University in search of her dream; a music career. But it's not until 2008, when Derek Davies discovers her voice and trust her. Finally in 2009, Marina finds success with I'm not a robot.
Vocalist of a style that could rank among the indie pop, new wave, and in his latest work, electronics. She has cited a wide-range of influences such as Daniel Johnston, Blondie, The Distillers, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Britney Spears, Yann Tiersen, Elliott Smith, Dolly Parton and Madonna.
Here her amazing discography:
Studio albums
2010: The Family Jewels
2012: Electra Heart
Extended plays
2007: Mermaid vs. Sailor EP
2009: The Crown Jewels EP
2010: The American Jewels EP

For me, Marina & The Diamonds has been a light in the way of musical darkness that surrounded me lately. A voice and a spirit like no other. I love her too much because talents as hers are those who wake up hope.

Bilbao Vol I

I've spent most of my Easter holidays in Bilbao. On Thursday I packed some clothes and me & my family took route to the north of Spain. Bilbao seemed a little far and a little strange in my thoughts (I blame all those prejudices that media sometimes create in our minds). Bilbao is one of my favourite cities in Spain, I fully recommend to visit it, as it's so so beautiful I just can't tell with words!!
To my surprise, my mother told me that my granny was living there for 11 years!! so it makes me think about the destiny..may I be living there at some stage? I hope so, because Bilbao is amazing, the food, the people, the buildings, the mountain, the sea, the atmosphere...<3

It smells like rhythm

This drawing I did a few days ago inspired me the following;
One day you wake up and you feel full of energy and an incredible desire to take on the world. Suddenly you're feeling nostalgic for that group you adored as a child, and you knew all the songs. On the shelf of the tapes you find that cassette recovered with stickers of hearts that had a mix of those hits of the time.
While listening to Bobby Brown, you decide to close your room and start dressing in a 90's style to dance the choreography that you used to prepare with the neighborhood kids on weekends.
Oh, such a good times baby ...

Round Sunglasses

Round Sunglasses, this is all about. I've chasing this kind of glasses for years, even before they become famous. Honestly, I would wear all of them, no matter the color. These I'm showing above are some of the most beautiful ones I've found around and I wanted to share it with you.
Which are your favourite one? have you ever used this style?
I can tell you will find most of it in 80s Purple, an amazing website with good prices and interesting things.
Hope the weather is improving next days to try them :)

Easter Week

For me, beyond any religious significance, Easter is a manifestation of genuine art and in my opinion it's worth seeing.
This outfit I'm wearing today (shirt with cross symbol and crosses necklace) is an ode to the Easter processions; the bands that accompany the steps of virgins and Christs, the candles, the silence, the individual reflection, the emotion and nostalgia involving the spanish streets these days.
I wish you all a good Easter week and happy time!

Hello April!

Well as you can see my blog has changed, not only in name and address, but also the content.
Now I want to focus this hobby (which I hope to devote more time) in 2 issues which are of great interest to me and which I'll be sharing with you.
Fashion and Art. I always dump my imagination in my drawings and the clothes I wear. I also love researching many sources of inspiration and taking small details that are contributing a new light to my mind. I hope to inspire you too.
Today's look is a nod to early spring and the first rays of sun.

New York

New York is one of those cities in which I could be lost a thousand times. It's been a year and a half since I was there and I still feel the experience as if it were yesterday.
This won't be a chronicle of the trip, or a description of the most important areas that you can visit, because you can go directly to that blogs of world travelers, the TV programme 'Spanish around the world', the geek-forums, the Lonely Planet or the travel agencies. This post is dedicated to the soul of this city. To which you can't see, but you breathe in every corner.
For me this city is like the sigh of a dream that is half fulfilled but finally smiles and keeps walking. It is the illusion of someone who wants to conquer the world and start over. It is the melody of a blues soft caressing the streets at dusk. It is that horizon with a light that never stops shining. It is the loneliness surrounded by the crowd. Is the crowd embracing solitude. New York is a train that never stops. Is that diamond from Tiffany's that you could never pay. It is the sparkle in the eyes of the tramp who sleeps every day on a bench in Central Park. It is the IPhone of a CEO of a super multinational. It is the hotel where he rests his ambition and fear of failure. Also sleeps Alicia, an immigrant from across the ocean that came with the promise of success. It also held that two lovers who are newlyweds. New York is the most amazing place I've ever been.
